Nvidia’s Cryptocurrency Mining Restrictions Already Bypassed

It’s pretty standard that for mining cryptocurrencies, the most efficient and cost-friendly way is to use graphics cards typically used for playing the most graphically demanding videogames. GPU producers such as Nvidia and especially the gaming community are obviously quite frustrated. Due to the mass mining of cryptocurrencies and using high-end graphics cards, their demand has already increased so much that their stocks have practically gone low, and consequently, their prices have jumped drastically. After all, these graphics cards were developed by Nvidia for gamers and not for cryptocurrency mining in the first place.

As the trend continues, Nvidia has prepared a new series of dedicated graphics cards equipped with the Cryptocurrency Mining Processor or CMP. Fans of cryptocurrencies will initially have two dedicated graphics cards available, namely the 30HX and 40HX. The new products will be available in the Q1 of 2021, and their capacity will be 26 MH/s and 36 MH/s.

Upcomming NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3050 Ti

We recently announced Nvidia’s intentions to start selling the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card. The innovation will be based on the Nvidia Ampera GA102 graphics core and equipped with 10,240 CUDA processors. With 12 gigabytes of 384-bit GDDR6 graphics memory, the maximum power consumption will be around 320 watts, which means that we will only be able to use it in “advanced” computer cases with high-end PSUs.

Since the new GeForce RTX 3080 Ti will be quite expensive, there are already rumors online that Nvidia is preparing another graphics card for less demanding gaming fans. It is supposed to be a GeForce RTX 3050 Ti model. It’s expected to be much less powerful than the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti model, but it will still cope with more demanding tasks.

The GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics card will be based on the Nvidia Ampera GA107 graphics core, which means that it will be equipped with 2,304 CUDA cores. There will be GDDR6 graphics memory with a capacity of only 4 gigabytes and a 128-bit bus interface, being able to play games with it at slightly lower graphics settings. Maximum power consumption will be around 60 watts.


NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti – It’s All About Performance

Nvidia recently announced the availability of their most recent GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card. It’s available with 12 gigabytes of GDDR6 graphics memory. The performance is exceptional, as it is equipped with 3,584 CUDA cores that render graphics content at a frequency between 1,320 and 1,780 MHz. The maximum power consumption is around 170 watts, which means that we will be able to use it in conjunction with slightly more compact PCs with above the average PSUs.

But as more demanding gamers need even more power, Nvidia is expected to offer a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti version of graphics card soon. It will be based on the Nvidia Ampera GA102 graphics core with 10,240 CUDA cores. It will be available here with 12 gigabytes of GDDR6 graphics memory and a 384-bit data interface. The maximum power consumption will be around 320 watts, suitable for more advanced computer systems.

Of course, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 TI graphics card will not be cheap. In the United States, its retail price is expected to be around $1000.
