I loved the original Banjo Kazooie games and, like many, was surprised at the vehicle-centric gameplay when it was first announced. However, I always look forward something different and this is certainly that. There has been a lot of moaning about it but if you want a straight platformer get the original BK on XBLA or buy a Wii and Super Mario Galaxy - they are unmatched. From the outset this is clearly a Rare game. The locales beam with imagination and graphical splendour and the characters are rich in details and humour. Better still is the fact that the game doesnt seem to suffer from slow down as you negotiate the massive open landscapes. The gameplay itself revolves around collecting jiggies and other stuff from various worlds in order to unlock new ones - very much like Mario 64. Again like Mario 64 each level has a number of acts so you play the same environemnt several times to complete all of the tasks. This is fine but also a problem.
