This game has been the top game this year without a doubt, it's great graphics enhance your gaming experience. Clearly an improvement on the much enjoyed call Of Duty 3. Although single player is very short, the online part of the game is where it has excelled. with the choice of many different game modes (approx 15!!!) along with 19 different maps. Although the one dissapointment is that when the host leaves it does mean the end of the game, this is where the developers let themselves down. Other than that this is clearly still the no.1 played game despite nearly being 12 months old.

I quite recently acquired my Playstation 3 and the first game I knew I had to buy was Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Being a big fan of the earlier products on the PC, I had heard some amazing things about the game and played on it at friends, and it seemed to be the game to own.
People were not wrong. Where to begin to review? There is so many good things to say and as of yet I have only thought of one bad thing about it. So it mustnt be doing too badly then!
Ill start with the single player. The story is mostly based upon a fictional future featuring the USA, the UK and Russia who are fighting against Russian Ultranationalists and rebels who have overthrown a Government in a small, Middle Eastern Country. You begin on a SAS training ground where you complete the basic tutorial and choose your difficulty level for the rest of the campaign. From there you jump straight into action by completing a SAS takeover on a Cargo Freighter which contains parts for a nuclear device. Soon the enemy discovers your presence on the Freighter, and sends some MiG fighter-jets to sink the boat, containing all the evidence and with you on it! You continue through the campaign, killing thousands of enemies without hesitation and with an outstanding array of weapons at your disposal.
The gameplay throughout all of the missions in the campaign mode is just marvellous. Characters move on screen without pause or glitch and the graphics are truly spectacular. Little things in the scenery like bottles or cans which scatter when you drop a grenade nearby or the occasional bird that sings it sweet song. Characters speech is almost as if you are there with them and the dubbing is very well done. You hear shouting in the background and gun shots as if you truly were there fighting the enemy.
Not only do you feel extremely pleased and satisfied when you complete single player; you are blessed with a special epilogue mission which includes a hostage takeover on a plane. You use SAS tactics to eliminate all the terrorists and then escape the plane. After the epilogue, you could replay the missions and shoot all the enemies again, without being bored, or you could discover the ultimate Multiplayer that has won the awards for Call of Duty 4.
You start with nothing basically, a few basic weapons and a very low rank. From there you work your way up into the highest ranks and earn amazing weapons by shooting and completing objectives by competing against thousands of people from the all around the world. One minute you could be in a Team Deathmatch where you just have to kill as many people as possible and the next to could be competing in a Sabotage game, attempting to use a bomb to blow up a certain point. With 13 different types of match, and with 15 default maps, youre sure that you will be kept satisfyingly busy and entertained for your whole Call of Duty: Modern Warfare experience.
A truly fantastic game and a must for any Playstation 3 owner.
