I great track list and some interesting gaming elements but the decision to not fully support the Rock Band 2 add on cymbals or the aftermarket ION Drum Rocker set by just reducing the drum track means ill be staying away. Theres no excuse for this other than a desire to drive their own hardware sales.  Read More

Firstly, I'd like to talk about the hammer-ons/pull-offs in this game. If you liked the Guitar Hero II, or the Rock Band hammer-ons/pull-offs(on the guitar), then you will notice that this game has brought back the "real hammer-ons/pull-offs". The game itself is extremely good, though there are some flaws which brought my rating down to an "OK". If you liked the old hammer-ons/pull-offs, then...I don't know if you'll like the Slider Notes. Slider Notes are notes in which you slide with the Slider Bar. Slider Notes are all connected by a purple line and are more "glitterry" than any normal note(hammer-ons/pull-offs just glow from it's white spot). Like hammer-ons/pull-offs, none of the slider notes in the game have to be strummed but rather, touched by the slider bar(or normal buttons if you do not own the Guitar Hero: World Tour guitar), this can make you look either cool, or a complete failure. Another thing I'd like to talk about, which brought my rating down to an "OK", is the songs in the game. Being a very experienced Guitar Hero player, I can tell you now that the Guitar Hero: World Tour songs are rubbish...with the guitar. If you are buying the game with only the guitar - Don't. They made Guitar Hero: World Tour not very Guitar-based and so the songs are just too easy for an expert in Guitar Hero. Though, you can make your own songs and download many people's others, which are the hardest things I've ever seen, to be honest(only for Xbox LIVE). The game is amazing with a full band, but not too good with just a guitar. But what I would like to say is that, if you haven't ever played any guitar-based game, then buy this one for a starter - or just buy all of them if you have the money - but be sure to get this. You will love it.
