I ordered this item while looking for a mains powered charge unit for my ps3 controllers. After several months of waiting Amazon told me they couldnt deliver this item and I ended up ordering the only alternative I saw available the mains powered charging dock by Competition Pro, this was again fruitless as when I received it I discovered it didnt even work. I then went out and found this item in a local electronics store, to my delight it worked and I eventually had something that worked. However it is not ideal, the red/green indicator lights are very bright and cannot be turned off, having two of these means my room is now lit up like a Christmas tree at night. Also you need to fix little plastic bits to your controller. These do allow you to just drop the controller easily into the port but can get in the way while playing using the R/L buttons on the top, but you do tend to get used to it being there.
