It is indeed true that the two mediums of game and film are becoming increasingly blurred. Games now have cinematic sections in which the player becomes a passive observer, as opposed to a player. Despite this blend, many games still lack the fundamental element of cinematic presentation - a high quality soundtrack. There are of course exceptions, notably the Final Fantasy Series, but it is truly the Metal Gear Solid Series which breaks the trend and defies all expectation.The album begins, and the listener is treated to Snake Eater, a turn away from traditional Metal Gear introductions. The track is similar to the brassy tracks of the earlier James Bond themes, and conveys the same feeling of the clasic spy thriller.
