This was my first introduction into the Call of Duty series and I was completely overwhelmed by just how addictive and gripping it could be. I'll start logically with the single player mode, and first of all I would like to say how frighteningly realistic the situations you find yourself in are, in particular Act I, especially with all the recent conflicts in the Middle East. As the story progresses you find yourself engrossed in the sometimes over-dramatic sequences, but it is still great to watch. However, the structure of the single player mode is fairly basic and very rarely do you find yourself following a pre-determined path, but it is still very challenging nonetheless. But it is in the multiplayer where this game shines. It is highly addictive and you can find yourself playing it for hours. There are plenty of game modes to please, as well as challenges which will keep you entertained long after you reach Level 55. As for the presentation, this game is one of the most impressive games that I have ever seen. The graphics are stunning, provided you have a powerful enough card, and the sound, an interesting mix between dramatic scores and modern beats, heighten and climaxes at the most important times. Overall Call of Duty 4 is a fantastic game and is without a doubt one of the best FPS of all time. From a score out of 10 I would give this game - 9.5/10
