Struggling to come up with the best Christmas present for your video games mad relations?
Well hunt no more!
Take a front row seat and join us for the second installment of the
Find-games Best Christmas Present Awards 2008!
The Legend of Spyro the Dragon: Dawn of the Dragon. (DS/XBox360/Wii/PS3/PS2): Move over Sonic and Crash Bandicoot, there's a new hero in town. Everyone's favourite dragon takes to the skies in this explosive tri-quel. There's a Dark Master on the loose and it's up to Spyro to learn new skills and blast the baddie out of the sky. |
Mortal Kombat v DC Universe (PS3/Xbox360): ever wondered how your favourite superheroes would fare in a scrap against each other? Well wonder no more, thanks to the phenomenon that is DC Universe you can now pit Superman against Batman, Raiden v Joker and Scorpion v Sub Zero. |
Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia (DS): join in with the Pokemon phenomenon with this new release. Play as a Pokemon Ranger in the new Almia region. Gather and train your own army in this unputdownable adventure game. |
Peppa Pig (DS): a great My First Game for little DS gamers everywhere, Peppa Pig gets young 'uns brains moving with a whole host of puzzles to conquer including kite flying, pancake flipping and snowman dressing. |
Barbie Horse Adventures: Riding Camp (Wii/PS2/DS): little girls (and boys) can become Barbie in this riding simulator. There are five four legged friends to choose from and all their tack is fully customisable. Everything there is to know about caring for a horse is here, plus the chance to ride to your heart's content all over Barbie Island. |
Spore (DS/PC): this year's most clever offering (apart from Little Big Planet) Spore turns you into God as you nurture an amoeba, create a civilisation and dominate the world! It's sims but at a whole new level. |
Little Big Planet (PS3): Another of the most cleverest games this year, Little Big Planet puts you in control of everything, and I mean everything! Amazing graphics bring the world of the main character, known as Sackboy, and his fabric-coated pals to life with realistic physics and a stunning level of detail. Played with friends it’s a great puzzle adventure, as you co-operate and compete acrosseach level. |
Tom Clancy's End War (PS3/PSP/DS/XBox360); a strategy game that'll have you on the edge of your seat. Set during World War 3, (that's apparently gonna happen in 2020) you're transported to eerily familiar American and European cities to defend as those greedy superpowers fight for supremacy over global-political issues. There's more tactical decision-making than you can shake a stick at and a voice recognition mode that's impressive to say the least - the headset option is a must! |
Resistance 2 (PS3); Join hero Nathan Hale and his special sentinel task force in a battle to the death against Chimera aliens. There's a great weapons arsenal to raid plus single player, or 60 player competitive modes. But this game comes into its own in an eight player co-op mode to die for. |

Disney Sing It: HSM3 Senior Year (Wii): don't just sing it, learn all about breathing, pitch and harmony with your very own HSM tutors. Then perform a mini showcase of everything you've just learned. Multi-player option includes duets, versus and a gig mode. |
WWE Smackdown v Raw 2009: a new tag team match is this new release's big pull with new, bone-crunching finishes and a chance to grab the "hot tag" of victory. There's also the chance to design and put into action your own blinding finish move plus there are downloadable extras to keep this game fresh, even in the sweatiest lycra leotard.
Dead Space (XBox360/PS3/ PC): this explosive shoot em up has more than a passing resemblance to Resident Evil and Alien. Warning: this is blood and gore-filled.
Golden Balls (DS): Not since Who Wants To Be A Millionaire has a television game show video game release been so anticipated. Be the best bluffer to progress through to the final showdown and a chance to win a virtual jackpot.
What's cooking? With Jamie Oliver (DS): the cocky Cockney presents some of his tastebud-busting treats with the added bonus of hands-free voice recognition so sticky fingers reign. You can also store your own recipe creations for future reference and go virtual shopping with Jamie.
Guitar Hero World Tour: Band Bundle (XBox360/PS3/Wii): get the whole family together for a bit of festive jamming. Includes game, drums, microphone and guitar. The best fun you'll have as a family this Xmas.
