Madden 09 is a huge leap forward in looks from 08, and in some of the gameplay. The Madden IQ test at the beginning of the game allows you to test yourself in a few situations, then this sets the difficulty level of each section of the game - this level also adapts each time you play. The controls however are fearsomely difficult, slight twitches of the control sticks sends your player hammering off in the wrong direction. Another annoyance is that when your player gets involved in a block its damn difficult to shed it, but opposition players just seem to whiff by other blocks to muller you. The commentary is much better, although it quickly gets repetitive, and some of the AI play calling is pants, but overall a great looking but kinda frustrating game to play. Read More |
